Ever heard the saying: you can’t have your cake and eat it too. We beg to differ, pessimists. We’re about to show you three spa treatments that will actually leave your mouth watering. These treatments use edible ingredients to actually purify and detox your skin. We’re talking some chocolate, a little bourbon and even a few exotic berries. Excuse us. We’re having our cake now.
The first treatment on the list is the Chocolate Fondue Wrap. And where else would this sugary scrub be located than in the capital of chocolate, Hershey, Pennsylvania. The Spa at The Hotel Hershey offers a variety of chocolate-inspired spa treatments, including Chocolate Hydrotherapy and a Chocolate Bean Polish just to name a few. We have our eyes set on the Chocolate Fondue Wrap, because come on, who doesn’t want to be wrapped in a Hershey’s bar.
A warmed mixture of cocoa beans and moor mud is lathered onto your skin, just after your full body scrub. Then wrapped in a heated blanket, you’ve officially become the world’s largest candy bar, packaged and ready for sale. The cocoa extract is said to revitalize the skin and leave your body feeling chocolatey smooth and blemish free.
This 60-minute treatment goes for $130. And a forewarning. They do make you shower after the treatment. Even if you beg not to…
The second tasty treatment brings us down to the Caribbean islands. Specifically, the Sonesta Maho Beach Resort & Casino in St. Maarten. Their Serenity Spa tells guests to ‘Relax. Indulge. Escape’. We’re definitely indulging in their Guavaberry and Sugar Body Scrub, which incorporates the fresh-cut berries actually grown on the island. While the sugar scrubs exfoliates your skin, the guavaberry serves to buff and smooth your body.
As we are sure it is most exhausting to layout all day on the beaches of the Caribbean, this treatment will relax those muscles and bring serenity to that sunburn. The 55-minute treatment is priced at $105 and the resort warns guests to book prior to your arrival. Perhaps to stock up on all those fresh cut berries.
We saved the best for last in our list of delectable spa treatments. The Spa at the Four Seasons Hotel Chicago offers a Vintage Bourbon Massage. The treatment begins with a Bourbon body scrub, using a mixture of Kentucky bourbon and brown sugar to exfoliate the skin. Whether you’re paying for a 55 to 80-minute session, a therapeutic massage using hot stones is to follow. Forbes Travel Guide lists this spa as a four-star venue, and when you hear what’s next, you’ll know why…
Just as you’re feeling silky smooth on the outside, the treatment concludes with an actual tasting of their signature single-barrel bourbon at the hotel’s Allium Bar. Now that is a full-body massage, ladies and gentlemen.
Dependent upon the length of your massage, the treatment ranges from $160 to $215. While we suggest to indulge for the full time, we know you’ll be salivating for that tasting long before the scrub is even over!
Put the work away and set aside some time for a little indulgence. These spa specials are sure to be a treat!
