Amazon Introduces new High-End Fashion Line
Amazon is venturing into new territory with it’s most recent launch of luxury clothing.
The company that is known for delivering your essentials from A to Z is adding high-end fashion to the list. Just recently the company has promoted its fall clothing line from Amazon.com in the television commercial “Delivering Fashion”. According to Geekwire, the company has aired the commercial over 2,500 times and has spent approximately $15 million dollars in advertisements.
This isn’t the first time Amazon has made an attempt to enter the online fashion industry. The company has been gradually easing it’s way into the industry. Amazon has had both successful and unsuccessful attempts to infiltrate the online fashion market. In the past, Amazon has shut down an online high end fashion site as well as a site for accessories. The company’s most successful venture into the fashion industry happened in 2009 with the purchase of Zappos.com.
Within the last few years Amazon has been working to build up fashion operations. The distributor has also taken the initiative to invest in two studio’s one in London and another studio in New York City. In February the online distributor added about 2,000 different trademarked fashion products to their website.
