Chanel turned its customary venue, the Grand Palais, into the “Chanel Data Center” a giant data center resembling “Silicon Valley.”  The futuristic fashion show opened with “robots from an unknown future,” as described by Chanel, two models dressed as optic white clad robots.

The ready to wear collection featured short skirts, swingy jackets and vibrant colors.  Almost every model wore what Chanel is calling, “caps on the side.” Models also wore staple pieces such as quilted leather motifs and tweed jackets. Karl Lagerfeld, the creative director describes this year’s collection as “intimate technology.” The show didn’t stop at robots on the runway it also incorporated light up handbags, and a robot clutch with a working circuit board.

One step on to the run way and into an unknown future, this year’s show was able stand out from the rest yet preserves the brands image.

I fell in love with fashion as a young girl. As I grew older I developed my passion for writing. Now I hope to turn my two passions into a career. I am looking forward to building my career as a fashion journalist. I enjoy following and writing about fashion trends. I am a minimalist when it comes to my personal style. Lastly I love matte and neutral colors.
