Clothing Your Personality
Every day that you wake up and get dressed, you tell the world a little bit about yourself. Your clothing choices aren’t just items you pick up in a store; they are outward expressions of your personality. Chances are that your mood is directly reflected in the outfits that you choose on a day-to-day basis.
Think back to ten years ago – you probably aren’t wearing the same clothes now that you wore then. Yes, some of this is due in part to trends that are in constant change. Have you ever considered, though, how you’ve changed?
Our lives are influenced by everyone around us. Our own circumstances cause us to grow as people, to change our attitudes, to be more true to who we are and to find ourselves. Due to this, our lives mimic that of a roller coaster – some quick turns, some long drops, some slow, uphill climbs and some quick advances forward. What we may not realize, is that our wardrobe changes along with these adjustments.
Your closet changes because your identity changes. Take a quick trip down memory lane and you’ll see that who you are now is not who you’ve been – the same is with your clothes.
According to Mail Online, Dr. Jennifer Baumgartner, a clinical psychologist, said, “Your clothes reveal what is really going on internally. Your thoughts and feelings are laid bare in the closet – you just have to look for them.”
So before you rush out that front door in the morning, take a moment and look at yourself in the mirror. Are you who you project yourself to be? Make sure your reflection is a positive one, one that really reflects your personality.
