Griffith Park in Los Angeles is getting an Eco-friendly Tea House

It is about time that we start consuming healthy items, working out often and simply making a cleaner and greener mark on this planet. Fortunately, if one lives in Los Angeles, all of these things can be easily accomplished now. At Griffith Park, there is a new tea-room that will be inaugurated. Whilst one indulges in recreational activities to stay fit in the park, a good cup of tea can be drunk soon after. However, the best part about this tea-room is that the whole shop is built out of reclaimed wood. Imagine just how good it would feel after a walk in the park to sip on a cuppa in a recycled shop and know that your activities for the day did not leave a carbon footprint on the planet. In the year 2007, there was a fire in this very park and the wood that was saved from the incident has been turned into a tea-room. One of the organizers talked about the idea of the park and said,

“I’m a big fan of tea … and I’d looked at teahouse design books and I happened to visit Japan during this time, where I spent a lot of time looking at temples. The entire design came from the amount of wood we had.”
