Michelle Obama: A Fashionable FLOTUS at DNC

All hail, FLOTUS.

The First Lady stunned the crowd at last night’s Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia. Michelle Obama spoke of Hillary Clinton as the next generation’s leader. She sliced through topics of slavery, gender discrimination and family while adding a few power-packed jabs at Donald Trump’s ‘thin skin’ and Twitter usage.

The house was silent as they stared on, speechless. And while the audience allowed her words to resonate, we couldn’t stop staring at the First Lady’s gorgeous Christian Siriano gown. The glimmering blue cap sleeved dress only rivaled the shimmering nature of FLOTUS, herself, as she brought peace and unity to an otherwise divided crowd.

From head to toe, Michelle truly shone. And those metallic Jimmy Choo pumps didn’t hurt, either. While Melania Trump opted for a pair of Christian Louboutin during the Republican National Convention, Michelle supported Clinton in a trusty pair of Choos. All the First Lady needed was a red lip to complete this perfectly patriotic ensemble.

Michelle’s hard-hitting speech and classically chic attire come as little surprise to First Lady fans who have watched FLOTUS outshine even the most politically packed stages. At 2008’s DNC, Michelle wore a red and black Narciso Rodriguez dress. Four years later, FLOTUS donned a custom sleeveless Tracy Reese dress. When she returned to Rodriguez for a wool crepe design for President Obama’s State of the Union speech in January, the designer sold out of the $625 dress.

We hope that the First Lady’s trendsetting ways extend to the minds of our next generation. Whether it be the next league of leaders or the youth of tomorrow, Michelle Obama spoke: “Don’t let anyone ever tell you that this country is not great.”

Hailing from Ewing, I'm a Jersey girl through and through meaning endless bagels and constantly defending the state from the stereotypes of Snooki and the rest of the Jersey Shore cast. I love the red carpet of any and all award shows and shamelessly indulge in Fashion Police the next day with an even greater intrigue. I'm an avid Netflix binge-watcher, but could also be perfectly content traveling around Europe with a few of the classics and a map in my bag.
