Nanette Lepore Resort 2017: A Coquettish Collection

Nanette Lepore is vibing the Roman city for her 2017 Resort Collection.

On the topic of her quite feminine and flirt-worthy designs, the designer tells WWD, “When I first went to Italy, I was only going to the northern side, to Milan, and I had a whole different impression of Italy. [The north] is austere and controlled.”

Southern Italy and Rome in particular, however; “everything is wild; there are girls on Vespas in fishnet stockings,” Lepore explains.

Although sans said fishnet leggings, the collection does feature a series of textured lace ensembles. A bell sleeved lace romper with a high neckline and see-through sleeves. A playful, multi-patterned lace mini dress in beige with a black underlay. Bell bottoms that feature a lederhosen-esque waistline are updated for a chic seaside style.

That wild child mentality comes into play as Lepore uses cheetah print on both a bell sleeved blouse and feisty salsa skirt.

Lepore’s collection, overall, evokes movement. She designs for a woman unafraid of texture, print or sex appeal. Nanette Lepore’s Resort Collection is coquettish, animated and ready for the woman who understands playfulness and confidence are not mutually exclusive.

Hailing from Ewing, I'm a Jersey girl through and through meaning endless bagels and constantly defending the state from the stereotypes of Snooki and the rest of the Jersey Shore cast. I love the red carpet of any and all award shows and shamelessly indulge in Fashion Police the next day with an even greater intrigue. I'm an avid Netflix binge-watcher, but could also be perfectly content traveling around Europe with a few of the classics and a map in my bag.
