Reem Acra Shows Bridal Collection at Tiffany & Co Flagship

Designer Reem Acra’s fashion line will join the ranks of labels that have brought their clothing to jewelry seller Tiffany & Co, WWD reported. The connection of high fashion to fine jewelry isn’t much of a stretch, especially when the fashion in question is a bridal collection.

Acra’s spring bridal show will take place at Tiffany’s flagship on Fifth Avenue in New York City. Approximately 200 guests should be in attendance.

The Acra collection includes 20 different styles. Acra wants to use concepts from Tiffany design on future work, although this spring collection doesn’t involve a direct collaboration. The invitations are the sole joint advertising point, and Tiffany said the Acra collection will remain independent.

Yet Acra, according to a spokesperson for Tiffany, demonstrates a connection to the brand. Last year during the fall, an Acra gown showed in the exhibition for Moda Operandi at the Fifth Avenue Tiffany’s.

And other designers have chosen Tiffany to house a bridal collection show. Caroline Herrera did it in 2009. Another designer, Henri Matisse, did the same thing. Back in 2011, Vera Wang managed to score a runway collaboration and showed an Audi Fashion Festival, which was in Singapore.

Now Acra is facing a 20-year milestone in her career. Since 1997, when she debuted her designs in a bridal line, to now, numerous celebrities have worn Acra on the red carpet following her eveningwear line. Among those are Gwen Stefani and Taraji P.  Henson, Alia Bhatt and Kristen Wigg, and even Melania Trump, who wore an Acra gown at Union Station the day before.

In early March, Acra advertised her new collection through a Paris presentation at the Hotel Ritz. The collection is built to be ready-to-wear.

She’s also in process of filming for a Dubai-based show, where she guides new talent in developing their fashion design work.

Acra’s collection will show on April 18.

I'm a lover of words in all forms, sweatshirts in all conditions, and God in all circumstances. I particularly enjoy working collaboratively on the written word and wearing microfiber robes (preferably at the same time). Most of the time I don't get enough sleep, but I make a valiant effort.
