Rihanna’s Unruly Fenty X Puma Collab for Paris Fashion Week

Rihanna showed her Puma collaborative collection, featuring plenty of rebellious attitudes, on March 6 at Paris Fashion Week, according to The New York Times.

Harper’s Bazaar reported on the show for the Fenty X Puma collection for fall/winter 2017, which was partly sporty, partly troublemaker. The collection is the singer’s second collab with Puma.

The show took place in The National Library of France (Bibliothèque Nationale), which was decked out with banners reading “Fenty University.” Despite the collegiate décor, an air of adolescent bad attitude permeated the show, starting with the invitations, which were accompanied by varsity-style pins and were designed to look like detention cards.

And the Fenty Class of 2017 was a misbehaving bunch. For starters, they walked across sets of study tables in rows, which served as the catwalk instead of a regular runway. Hanne Gaby Odiele, among the models, tore a book apart, Elle reported. Another model carried a skateboard.

Designs stuck to a high school varsity feel as well, getting a little 90s at times with crop tops and solid bright colors. Turtle necks, sport-team style striping and numbers, hoodies, and backpacks kept up the theme. The palette included a lot of dark burgundy, sunshine orange, bright yellow, black and some blues.

A few extra long puffer coats, one plaid and one in black with yellow lining (perhaps reversible?) and ball caps with the Fenty “F” crossed the makeshift runway, which had its light through a line of reading lamps. Other pieces included a high-necked orange bodysuit, a fleecy baby-blue jacket over a matching halter-neck crop top and skinny pants, worn with bright red vinyl boots, and a cropped puma sweater in blue paired with baggy plaid pants.

Among the attendees were Rihanna’s family and Cara Delevingne, as well as Joe Jonas, Salma Hayek, and Francois Henri Pinault, Harper’s Bazaar reported.

When the show was wrapped and class was out, Rihanna herself appeared to bow out wearing a fluffy-looking coat that toed the line between neon yellow and green.

I'm a lover of words in all forms, sweatshirts in all conditions, and God in all circumstances. I particularly enjoy working collaboratively on the written word and wearing microfiber robes (preferably at the same time). Most of the time I don't get enough sleep, but I make a valiant effort.
