What Are You Doing with the Rest of Your Summer?

You’re living in the wake of patriotic parades, obligatory day drinking and endless firework grand finales. The Fourth of July has passed and you’re dreading the email count you’ve acquired in between Thursday afternoon and Tuesday morning. The four day weekend was just long enough to relax and just short enough to leave you wanting more.

Your mini vacation marks the halfway point of summer. How is it already July? What about all those plans you had? Trying that new rooftop bar in midtown. Finally waking up for the farmer’s market on Saturday morning. You down spiral into a black hole of I should have, I could have and I guess I won’t.

Enough. Seize this summer bucket list and you’ll forget your post-Fourth of July woes. Because news flash: you still have half a summer left!

  1. Take a trip down memory lane. Let’s head back to the zoo – we promise it’s still just as cool.
  2. Do like Danny and Sandy and head over to your local drive-in movie theater.
  3. Take advantage of the warmer weather and do some rooftop cooking!
  4. A weekend road trip: Take a map and hit the road. See where you end up!
  5. Sit beachside and catch a beautiful sunrise [we recommend an all nighter if you want to do it right]
  6. Two words. Outdoor. Concerts.
  7. Whether it’s in a tent or a few pillows and a blanket, spend the night under the stars.
  8. Grab your swimsuit and find a rope swing!
  9. Read strictly guilty pleasure books [we’re on our third reading of the Twilight series]
  10. Find a secret garden. NYC is full of them!
  11. Hit the boardwalk arcade and win a top shelf prize.
  12. Audition for reality television [we hear the Bachelor is taking tapes]
  13. Go to the water park and finally climb the stairs to that slides almost 90-degree drop.
  14. Watch a thunderstorm on the front porch. It’s scary cool.
  15. Crash a wedding. You’re Sally’s cousin’s friend from boarding school. Duh.
  16. Eat endlessly at a fried food festival. Funnel cake, fried Oreos, fried twinkies and more!
  17. Have the ultimate PJ day. We’re talking Disney Channel marathon from sun up to sun down.
  18. Go on the ultimate pool hopping spree.
  19. Take at least one picture every day and make a flipagram Insta!

And when the sun finally sets and summer seems to wind down completely, wind yourself back up for a full 24 hours of Labor Day fun! We suggest a few friends, a grill, multiple six packs and a beachside bonfire.

Summer doesn’t have to be half way over. With these in mind, it can be fun filled and half way to go! So, let’s get started.
