The 3rd annual S.H.E. Summit Week, the annual global women’s week, began Thursday.
This event runs from June 5-6 and is hosted on 92nd Street Y. According to She Summit it is, “a global conversation and celebration of female potential and possibility that is accessible and relevant to women everywhere.”
The event’s goal is to empower women, giving them the confidence they for “personal and professional growth”.
Women who attend the event can learn leadership, networking, and how to improve themselves. The event lasts for two days, but participants can choose to buy tickets for one of the days. There will be more than 60 speaker’s total, including Samantha Power, U.S. Ambassador to the UN, and Marlo Thomas, Award-Winning Actress, Author and Activist.
There are also more than 20 sessions which will have various topics geared toward improving women’s lives, some of the programs include focusing on careers, leadership, motherhood, and social good.

More than ever, we need to be celebrating the achievements of women, and not only that but also inspiring our larger generation of women to get inspired in all areas of their lives,” said Claudia Chan, Found, S.H.E. Not only are women encouraged to expand their minds at the event, they’re also encouraged pamper themselves with healthy skin treatments, and a little bit of shopping.
