You may be one of those people who carry credit card and debit cards and only those cards. Constantly you hear that you should carry cash, but you just refuse to do so. Regardless if it is $20, you should have it in your wallet and here are reasons why.
1. Not ALL places take cards
Although you want to believe that all stores or restaurants accept a debit or credit card, that is not the case. Eventually you will run into an establishment that takes cash only and you will get up to the register completely screwed.
2. Some establishments require a minimum charge
A number of places require that you spend a certain amount in order to use your card for payment. It is completely mind blowing when your total comes to $4.99, but the cashier won’t take your card because it isn’t $5.
3. Some purchases should be purchased with cash
Let’s say for instance you go into the local convenience store for a bag of chips and an ice cream, and that comes to a dollar and some change. Are you really going to swipe your card for a dollar?
4. Carrying cash and less of a hassle
When you use cash as your form of payment, you get your change and receipt and out the door. However when you have your card you have to sign the receipt, maybe show the cashier your ID, or it might not even work. You just want to get in and get out, and unbeknownst to you, you are wasting time.
