5 Easy Cures For The Worst Hangovers

Hangovers are the worst. They’re known for making everyone say that infamous statement, “I’m never drinking again.” Well, everyone also knows that’s a lie, so here are some tricks to cure your hangover before your parents or boss notice.

1. Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate

Don’t ignore the body’s craving for H2O. It doesn’t matter what kind of alcohol was consumed; it all dehydrates and interrupts water regulation. Yep, that Bud Light requires water replenishment just like that dreaded tequila shot. In addition to water, tomato juice with sugar and cayenne pepper may help speed the process up.

2. Take a Mustard Bath

Wait, the kind of mustard that goes on a hamburger? It’s not far off. Pour two tablespoons of Kalahari Detox Mustard Bath, a powder-like substance, into the bathtub and soak for roughly 20 minutes. It will help the body detox and replenish needed minerals.

3. Do a Yoga Pose

That’s right – get out of bed. Sulking over last night’s bad decisions won’t help the recovery process. The Seated Twist position will actually help squeeze the leftover alcohol out of the organs. Sit on the ground with legs straight and out in front. Bend the left leg and cross it over the right leg so that the outside of the left ankle is touching the outside of the right thigh. Now, twist the torso to the left and place your right hand on the floor beside the left hip. Take deep breaths, hold for 30 seconds and switch sides.

4. Eat Carbs

Want to be able to sit up and walk around without feeling like having a toilet near by is a necessity? Nausea is the worst, but it can be cured with some crackers or toast. Although, it would be convenient, downing a hamburger or three helpings of bacon actually won’t do the trick. Keeping breakfast light with foods that are easy to digest will relieve the queasiness.

5. Rest Easy

Ah, what a wonderful thing to hear. Being told to sleep? Awesome. But it’s the truth – alcohol interrupts REM sleep, which is what the body needs most in order to recuperate. Alcohol may jumpstart sleep, but it doesn’t keep the sleep cycle consistent. So roll over in bed and save the exercise for tomorrow.
