There must be times you feel the urge to just watch an Asian movie, but have no idea which one is worth watching. This list of Asian movies, from Korea, Japan and Hong Kong, will feed your urgent hunger for now.
1. “The Man From Nowhere” (2010): This Korean movie hits every man’s and woman’s heart. A cold-blooded and non-sociable man’s only friend is a little girl, who is always alone and from the neighborhood. At first, the man does not want any connections with this girl, but his heart is slowly melted by the girl. The man who can’t care less ends up getting himself in trouble for the girl, who is kidnapped by a gang. You get the exciting action element, but at the same time, the emotional and cute relationship part between the man and girl in this movie. It is a must-see.

2. “Tokyo Girl” (2008): This Japanese film is not only a simple love story. It is a science-fictional love story between a girl from 2008 and a boy from Meiji 45, 1912. The modern girl accidentally drops her phone down the stairs, and it falls into the past. The couple can only date through the cell phone and see the same places at different times. This film will definitely hit your heart.

3. “Sky of Love (Koizora)” (2007): A typical Japanese high school love story, but also an introspective one. The story happens between two high school students, boy being a “bad boy” and girl being a “naive girl.” The film is heart-warming, but also hurting. It involves many social topics, such as teenage-pregnancy, rape and disease. It is a good-cry movie.

4. “Beast Stalker” (2008): This Hong Kong production features a battle of wits and strength between a police and criminal. You will be confused while watching the movie, but everything will make sense at the end. Your reaction will only be, “Oh, that is what happens! It makes sense now!”

If you like the “Beast Stalker” after watching it, the same crew produced a sequel, two plots are not related, called “The Stool Pigeon” (2010). The second movie talks further about people’s mentality. Should a police be a “good police” or “conscience person” when a spy informer is in danger? What do you think?

5. “The Way We Dance” (2013): This young and energetic hip-hop dance movie from Hong Kong will bring passions to your life and make you rethink about your dreams. The movie boost’s the famous quote, “How far are you willing to go for dance?” But actually, “dance” can be replaced with any word or any dream. The teenagers challenge themselves to extreme for their dancing dreams, regardless of injuries or anything else. So, “how far are you willing to go for YOUR DREAM?”
