Lush is filled with so many soaps, lotions, and bath bombs that it can sometimes be hard to decide which product to choose. I know that when I walk in, I want to buy at least half the store. After all, everything is great quality, entirely natural, fair-trade, vegan, and cruelty-free. What more can you ask for in a cosmetics company? Listed below are some of Lush’s best-selling products as well as some personal favorites that should leave you feeling clean, refreshed, and smelling fantastic.
- Ocean Salt $36.95 for 8.8 oz. or $21.95 for 4.2 oz.
This sea-salt scrub is one of Lush’s best-sellers, and it’s no wonder why. It’s made with lime extract, so it smells tropical and refreshing. It starts out with large grains of salt which gradually melt and soften as you wash, leaving the skin exfoliated and soft. I absolutely love this product for exfoliating my legs after shaving to prevent razor bumps. One thing to watch out for is if you have sensitive skin, as the larger salt grains and lime extracted in vodka may be irritating. If you think this may be the case, ask for a sample before you buy the full-sized product. For those of you who are really trying to avoid synthetics, Lush also sells this in a Self-Preserving formula. The larger 8.8 oz. container should last up to a year if used sparingly, but if used regularly it should last several months.
- Dream Cream $27.95 for 8.4 oz.
This soothing body and hand lotion is Lush’s second best-selling product. The lotion contains oat milk, olive oil, cocoa butter and tea tree oil, all of which are great for moisturizing and soothing irritated or dry skin. It’s scented with lavender and chamomile, a calming scent that is light and not overpowering. I have very dry skin, but after applying this lotion it feels moisturized and soft for over 24 hours. A little bit of this cream goes a long way, so it should last a long time even if used on your body, not just your hands. Like Ocean Salt, it also comes in a Self-Preserving formula.
- Mask of Magnaminty $25.95 for 11.1 oz. or $13.95 for 4.4 oz.
This face and body mask is made with clay, peppermint, aduki beans and vanilla. It’s a deep cleaning mask that can clear pores without irritating the skin. This is a great product for those who have oily skin or skin with pores that clog easily, as it should ideally keep your skin fairly clear. However, Lush states that it is not recommended for daily use, as using it too often would be too harsh. Using it once weekly should be enough to help keep your skin glowing and clear. There is also a Self-Preserving version.
- Sex Bomb $6.75
This wouldn’t be a Lush article if I didn’t list at least one bath bomb. While I haven’t tried this one myself yet, as I currently don’t have a tub, I have seen demos and smelled this in store, and it’s amazing. It turns the water of your bath a flirty bright pink, and the little rice-paper flower at the top unfurls and floats on top of the water. Not only is it adorable, it smells like a very nice perfume with a mixture of jasmine, clary sage, and ylang-ylang. It’s made with soy milk, making the bath feel silky and your skin soft. If you want to feel girly and relax in luxury, this best-selling bath bomb may be the one to try.
- Cosmetic Warrior $7.95
One of Lush’s Fresh Face Masks (which you can get for free if you bring in five empty black pots for them to recycle), this mask is perfect if you’re like me and have problem, acne prone skin. This mask is formulated specifically to clear acne and is a fairly powerful cleanser. But, because acne prone skin is usually very sensitive, this mask is not irritating. The only downside is that it doesn’t smell the greatest, its main ingredients are garlic and tea tree oil, both of which are powerful skin-clearing ingredients.
- Charity Pot $25.95 for 8.4 oz. or $6.95 for 1.7 oz.
I couldn’t finish this list without mentioning Charity Pot. This lightly floral lotion actually represents a great cause, with seven of its ingredients coming from Lush’s sustainable SLush Fun projects. Charity Pot is what Lush represents wrapped up in a little black pot, as 100% of the proceeds (excluding taxes) are sent to grassroots organizations that Lush supports in the areas of human rights, animal rights and environmental conservation. I personally really love the scent of this lotion because it’s subtle, scented with geranium, rosewood and ylang-ylang. If you want to both pamper yourself and do some good for the world, pick up Charity Pot.
