7 Ways Your Father Is Always There

The men in your life who helped shape who you are today those are the ones you will be celebrating on Father’s Day. The little things they did for you when you were a kid and as you were growing up just stick with you. Your memory recounts their lessons in the details of what may at first glance appear small, but in reality have a huge effect.

1. They never stay mad at you
All the times you made mistakes from the time you scribbled on the wall when you were two to when you scratched his car when you took it out as a teen, he forgave you. Although he certainly seemed very mad at first he never stayed that way and he continues to stand by your side throughout your mistakes.

2. You can count on them to lift you up
When you couldn’t reach the monkey bars, he made sure to help you up on them and then followed close behind to keep you from falling or getting hurt. Even now he makes sure you know that he will do what he can to protect you.

3. He will help financially when he can
From the spare change he would give you for the candy machine, to your allowance and later some help for your college education – he worked hard to make you happy. While you now earn your own money you know that you wouldn’t be where you are if it weren’t for the time and money he invested in your future.

4. Trying to get you into sports
Girls can like sports too if they want – whether or not you actually played with him or listened to his game insights and updates he always tried to share this particular hobby with you.

5. Reminds you that even if you get lost you can always find your way
Remember all the times your dad was driving and you were lost for a while because he didn’t want to ask for directions but eventually had to? He was just proving there is always a way to get you on the right path, even if it takes you some extra time or if it’s different than the one you initially planned on -or even if you need to ask for help.

6. Never be afraid to take the driver’s seat
Dads teach that while he or others may help bring you somewhere at times, you should learn to also take the driver’s seat and lead -both in the car and in your life.

7. His love is ever-present
You will always be their little girl no matter how old you get.

I wouldn’t change my relationship with my dad for anything in the world.
