Lovers of K fashion and fast fashion alike will be pleased to by the newest arrival to Williamsburg, Brooklyn. A Land, one of Korea’s most well-known high street retailers, has recently opened up a locale there. The department store is known as somewhat of a go-to for fashion-forward shoppers
A Land has around 20 stores all over Asia, however, this Brooklyn installment marks its first ever opening on the Western Hemisphere. The store, which is on at 92 North and 6th street, will be stocking a variety of well-known brands that those already familiar with the Korean label will know – Such as accessories company ChiChi, leather brand Fennec, and City Breeze.
The very entrance of the store will be stocked with items stateside audiences will already be familiar with; such Korean sheet masks, serums, and moisturizers. What’s more, the upper level, which houses men’s and women’s wear, has no clear delineation. This is an intentional decision that allows for everyone to peruse both sections.

The label’s products are manufactured in South Korea. Thus the relative proximity to their base allows them to achieve such high-quality products at a comparatively lower cost. Here in the US, most items at A Land are less than $100.

Nam Cho, the company’s US president has commented on the company’s new American venture, stating “It’s very unique, it’s different from what mainstream US fashion retailers are doing. We want Americans who are interested in fashion to come here and find something unique.”
Overall, the company plans to further develop its roots in America. For example, the sizing is currently the same as it is in Korea, with many items stating “One Size Fits All.” Cho has recognized how this could be an area of difficulty with the US audience but has stated that the company will work on making their clothing “localized” based off of just what proves popular on the American market.
As she says, this is a “second phase, this is our big investment.”
