A Touch Down in the Fashion World

Crew

What happens when you put together three basketballers, an American football player and a soccer goalkeeper? The front row of the Lanvin men’s show in Paris on Sunday. Nick Young, Dwyane Wade, Serge Ibaka, Victor Cruz and German soccer player Loris Karius joined the elite guest list for the show.

Karius confirmed he was likely to skip the Rio de Janeiro Olympics, where Germany will compete, in order to join his new teammates in Liverpool for the pre-season. “We’re holding talks now,” he said. “At the moment, it looks like I’m going to stay with Liverpool.” He apparently seemed upbeat about the transfer, despite all the uncertainty that’s happening in Britain due to their decision to leave the European Union. Karius commented on Britain’s decision to leave the EU by saying, “I can’t change what’s happening out there, so I don’t worry about it too much. We’ll see what’s going to go on there, but football-wise, I’m really excited to go.” You should also wait to expect to see the gorgeous blonde become more involved in fashion too. He teased the media by saying, “we’re working on some things.” Karius has also been attending the Balmain show living us wonder who will his fashion partnership be with?

A number of athletes were also seen at various other fashion shows recently. At Louis Vuitton, the trinity of Beckham, Wade, and Victor Cruz took in Kim Jones’s new collection, while Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Brice Butler, and Lakers shooting guard Nick Young all turned heads at Balmain.

Despite all of the sports stars being in town for the shows, Wade may have had the biggest fashionista in the week, taking in Dior Homme, Lanvin, Givenchy, and Balmain in addition to Louis Vuitton. It’s rumored that Wade wasn’t just there to look handsome, he was there to plot his spring wardrobe. We wish our men would take as much interest in fashion. But, with these new super groups of fashion conscious sports men hopefully our partners will take a sneaky look into male fashion.

It seems that actors and musicians need to move aside and let these athletes come to conquer the fashion world!
