The Accessories Council will be working with Women’s Wear Daily and The NPD Group to create their first summit event held in late July.
The Accessories Council is an organization that works to help promote and enlighten people on accessories. This is done in collaboration with over 250 companies. Some brands that are included under this title are Charming Charlie, Henri Bendel, Lord & Taylor and Nine West Group.
Some companies that are members of the Accessories Council are Bvlgari, Kate Spade New York and Kenneth Cole.
According to the Accessories Council,
“This incredible day-long program will feature a variety of informative and exciting presentations and panels from notable industry leaders.”
The event will be held on July 27 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m at LIM College. Preceding the event, Ed Jankowski, who is the vice president and general manager of Luxottica Retail, an eye accessories company. This will include a reception featuring cocktail drinks.
According to the Accessories Council,
“The Accessories Council Hall of Fame Tribute Series focuses on celebrating the accomplishments and careers of industry leaders. The Hall of Fame award recognizes those individuals whose leadership and contributions have been important to the industry. “
In 2014, a magazine dedicated to eyewear and eyecare. Recipients in the past have varied from companies, to presidents, to founders of accessory companies.
According to JCK Online, the speakers are,
“Ivanka Trump, founder of the eponymous fashion and accessories brand; Mark BOzek, CEO of Evine Live; Mary Beech, chief marketing officer of Kate Spade; Robert Ramos of the Doneger Group; Dominique Ansel, the famed pastry chef; Dan Lawson, costume designer for The Good Wife; Jenn Rogien, costume designer for Orange is the New Black and Girls; and Ariel Foxman, editorial director of InStyle and People Stylewatch.”
This summit is the first of its kind and will help to provide knowledge from those in the industry. At the event, companies can attend to speak with the best in the business in order to improve and get new ideas for their own businesses. Each company leading the event is helping
LIM College is a school that focuses on Fashion Merchandise, marketing and business. NPD Group focuses on similar things as well as helping companies that come to them better themselves.
According to The NPD Group, this includes,
“developing and offering the right products in the right places at the right prices for the right people in order to grow their businesses…”
From The NPD Group, Marshal Cohen who is the chief industry analyst of the company will also be speaking.
The Accessories Council works to showcase accessory brands, and they also help others discover the importance of accessorizing.
According to the Accessories Council,
“Incorporating accessories into your mix is a smart, affordable and exciting way to keep your store fresh and create a treasure hunt for your shoppers.”
The blog post is just a small insight as to what attendees can expect. It explains the importance of new products, encouraging men to accessorize and technology’s role in the accessory world.
In order to get a gold sponsorship, it will cost members of the council $5000, and non-members $5,500. For a silver sponsorship, council members will pay $2,500 and non-members $3,000.
As of the flyer going around that was created by the Accessories Council, LIM College and Tito’s Handmade Vodka are two of the sponsors listed.
50 Percent of proceeds are donated to OneSight, another eyewear company.
Tickets to attend the event for it will cost council members $500, and non-members $700.
