Being new to the fashionista world, you may tend to have an issue with the art of accessorizing. What would look the best with this? Is this too much? These are definitely questions that come to mind. With so many options in the accessory repertoire, it can be quite problematic to pick the right type of accessory for the outfit. Do not fret, new style queens. Here are some quick and easy mental rules to abide by when taking your look from bleak to chic.

A rule of thumb for any outfit is being able to balance. If the clothing itself is spritely and full of color, toned down accessories look the best and vice versa. When wearing a more casual outfit, for example, a neutral top and jeans, there are two different ways to play up this pallet. You can either be someone who enjoys the bling that would be wearing a chunky silver/gold necklace and bracelet combo or you can wear a subtle earring with a colorful scarf, for the everyday vibe. It’s all about dressing for your surroundings and finding accessories that complement each other.

If you’re quite skilled already, here are some expansions that can be experimented with in the accessory department. A popular trend this summer is wearing the straw fedoras or sunhats. A way to play up this accessory with your outfit is wearing a longer simple necklace and complimenting it with a colorful scarf or chunkier necklace that lays shorter. Definitely don’t play up the ears in this situation, have more of a simpler stud that matches the longer necklace. Like previously stated, it’s about having the look “just right” in order to be a true fashionista. Parisians are especially skilled in this department with their clothing being a pallet to play with different styling options of accessories.

This season take your outfits to the next level and accessorize!
