In his new collection, Adam Lippes highlights pieces inspired by the seasons, which according to WWD, he calls “multi-seasons”, preferring to refer to the collection as “pre-spring”, rather than a resort collection. The textures and silhouettes of his pieces are unpredictable, like the weather, and embody a fluid, light feeling. Some textured fabrics included in the collection comprise cotton, silk, denim, cashmere and super light faux fur.
The silhouettes, colors, and print designs were taken from “artistic musings”, says WWD, such as French artist Willy Daro, whose creative and eccentric shaped lamps and tables where somehow translated and transformed into long coats, high-waisted pants, and flowing tops. The interesting part about this collection is the fact that Lippes’ true passion is for sportswear, yet his evening wear is so stunning that it’s unexpected. However, there are hints of sportiness included in the designs of these regal, elegant dresses – they’re simple, to the point, and look very comfortable. An unexpected breathe of fresh air for evening wear.
