On Friday, Adrienne Bailon and her boyfriend Israel Houghton became engaged. The announcement was made via Bailon’s Instagram. Plus her engagement could not have taken place in a more perfect setting. The decision was announced in the city of love itself, Paris. The couple has been going back and forth on marriage for a while now.
Their relationship was officially introduced earlier this year in April. The two were very happy to go public with their relationship. Yet after they had done so they received some criticism from the public. This was due to the fact that Houghton at the time was fresh from a divorce in which he filed. Not to mention that Houghton’s relationship with his wife was about twenty years.
A little later Houghton did address his concerned fans in a Facebook post. He stated that the relationship between him and his wife had not been great for some time. Also that they had already basically been living separate lives for a while. Therefore he did eventually file for divorce from his current wife. Yet he was happy that him and Adrienne Bailon were able to have a relationship together.
The Real host Adrienne Bailon is also not a stranger to engagements. Earlier in 2015 Bailon was engaged to the Roc Executive, Lenny Santiago. Yet after a seven month long engagement the couple decided to call it all quits. At the time Bailon was very sad but also hopeful for the future. She decided to then focus on herself and her career.
From 2007 to 2009 Bailon also dated Rob Kardashian. The two were only in a dating relationship. They did not pursue a marital relationship during their time together. The apparent reason the two broke up was that Rob Kardashian was unfaithful. Yet them going their separate ways allowed both of them to find new happiness in other people.
The relationship between Israel Houghton and Adrienne Bailon is not extremely new. The two have been in a friendship relationship for the past two years. Pictures of Bailon and Houghton together did circulate for a while before they announced their relationship. In an Instagram post, Israel Houghton even referred to Bailon as his best friend. Yet eventually, Adrienne Bailon confirmed their relationship through a Facebook post.
This still came as a shock to the public who had witnessed Houghton announce his divorce. The biggest problem being that their relationship came so soon after Houghton’s decision. In a letter to the public Houghton admitted to being unfaithful in his relationship seven years ago. Many speculated that the reason for the Houghton’s divorce was Adrienne Bailon. Yet Bailon sticks to the fact that she did not even know Houghton at that time.
Whatever the case the two seem to be very happy with each other now. Bailon even has a beautifully crafted diamond ring to show their commitment to each other. The website eonline.com asked experts to analyze the ring. The estimation they came up with was around $750,000. The ring is quite large so it is not very surprising it has such a hefty price tag.
Yet one cannot put a price on marriage. The jewelry designer is not a stranger to crafting jewelry for celebrities. Another famous recipient of this brand of ring is Jessica Alba. The design appears to be complex and yet simple at the same time. Bailon captioned a stunning video of the ring under the glimmer of the Eiffel Tower.
The Instagram post read “You. Me. Oui.” Such a simple and yet beautiful way to announce the engagement. Houghton also tagged Bailon in a touching Instagram message. He basically thanked Bailon for accepting his request. The two are very excited and happy to be engaged. An official wedding date has not yet been set.
