Alberta Ferretti has joined the list of those showing collections at Paris Couture Week this July. The Alberta Ferretti Limited Edition collection will be made up of demi-couture pieces, which unlike true haute-couture, are made in very limited runs rather than as strictly one-of-a-kind pieces.
Started in 2011, Ferretti previously used a salon style debut for the Limited Edition collections, which were released as capsule collections. Last year, the collection was released seasonally. This July is the first time it will be presented on the runway. The Limited Edition collection is known for its ultra-feminine aesthetic and is usually made up of cocktail dresses and gowns that have a romantic feel.
This year’s collection has a dramatic 1920s-inspired glamour.
Of the collection, designer Alberta Ferretti said in an interview with Vogue, “The decision to present Alberta Ferretti Limited Edition for the first time during the days of haute couture is a natural evolution of the collection…The collection reflects my desire to create ever more exclusive, detailed designs, to meet the needs of my most discerning customers.”
The Limited Edition collection will be shown to a selective guest list of 100 people in Alberta Ferretti’s Parisian headquarters on July 3rd, just before the Atelier Versace show.
