London based fashion brand, Alexander McQueen, opened the doors of its latest flagship in the Aoyama neighborhood of Tokyo. The brand is in good company alongside Givenchy, Balenciaga, Prada, and Marc Jacobs in the luxury district of Tokyo.
The store consists of two levels and 4,200 square feet. Inventory includes Alexander McQueen men and women collections- runway and ready-to-wear pieces, as well as accessories.
The space was planned out by creative director Sarah Burton and David Collins Studio. The store is luxurious in design with its marble staircase, and white wall panels for a display.
What is interesting is the various sources of inspiration cited by the brand: Francis Bacon’s paintings of the pope, the Eighteenth century salon and Rorschach ink blots , the human skeleton and female form.
According to WWD, chief executive officer at Alexander McQueen, Jonathon Akeroyd, has announced a third McQueen opening in China, in Chengdu this summer. Other anticipated openings include: Monaco, Vienna, and Harbour City in Hong Kong later in the year.
