Huge Orchid petals have landed atop a black matte runway, in Paris. Just in time for Alexander McQueen’s 2015 Spring Collection.
Contrariwise, to the innocence of the flowers is the constricted models silhouette; bonded-up by angular lines and pelt combat boots.
The Japanese style collection is inspired by Geisha’s, more specifically by their Kimono’s. While, the hair and face add a Samurai-inspired-finish.
Alexander works with a color pallet of red, white, black and metallic. Models hair is perfectly put together in bun form and their faces are covered with a glossy mask. Leaving the eyes, nose and lips bare.
There couldn’t be a more ideal season to represent Japan, than spring. Like the image of petals floating onto the runway, the cherry blossom petals begin fluttering from their branches in the spring . Blossoming wholly for one week out of the year, cherry blossom’s characterize Japanese Culture, symbolic of “transience and nobleness.”
The craftsmanship leaves the clothes to speak for themselves. While, the collection communicates the story of spring, incorporating the flowering and the fight to survive.
