Allison Williams To be Peter Pan on NBC Musical

The cast of NBC’s ‘Peter Pan’ is getting bigger, as they’ve just announced who will be playing the lead role of Peter Pan. The lucky actress is Allison Williams, who is known for her role as Marnie Michaels on ‘Girls.’ The news was announced by her father Brian Williams on ‘NBC Nightly News’ on Wednesday, July 30th.

Many are anticipating her performance on the live musical production. The executive producers of the show stated, “Allison Williams is a major find,” continuing, “she will reinvent the iconic role of Peter Pan with her wit, her warmth, her dynamic flying and her wonderful musical abilities. The score will be sung beautifully and introduced to a whole new generation of families.”

On Allison’s Instagram, she posted a picture of her dressed as Peter Pan when she was younger with the caption, “I’ve been rehearsing for a REALLY long time.” She also commented on her being casted as Peter Pan, “It’s such an honor to be a part of this adventure, and I’m very excited to get to work with this extraordinarily talented team. And besides, what could go wrong in a live televised production with simultaneous flying, sword fighting and singing?”

The live musical telecast ‘Peter Pan’ will air on Dec 4th on NBC.
