Between barbecues, fireworks, beer and Bruce Springsteen on repeat, the Fourth of July is a toast to pure America. With Haute Couture fashion shows coming from across the globe, this holiday is a good time to remember classic American style.

A good question to ask is what constitutes “American fashion?” The French have Chanel, the foulard, and the boat neck shirt. The Italians have leather and Prada. Whereas America has developed a sense of fashion comparable to its political and social philosophies. We have Ralph Lauren and Tommy Hilfiger’s clean polo shirts and crisp blazers. US workers are dynamite developers, however, they also have torn denim, soft leather and the Southern charm that equally represents this country. It’s the American Dream infused in the day-to-day style.

On the Fourth of July these fifty states celebrate their liberation, but with that liberation came great responsibility. These will make you want to dig your heels into the dirt and strum a guitar, while belting out “America The Beautiful.”
