The hottest Hollywood couple, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, will co-star in “By the Sea,” which was announced by Universal Pictures announced Friday, July 18.
CNN reported that in addition to starring, Jolie will also be writing and directing the film. The movie will be the couple’s first on-screen appearance since 2005’s “Mr. & Mrs. Smith,” when they met and fell in love.
According to The New York Times, Universal Pictures described the movie as an “intimate, character-driven drama,” which features a couple’s relationship.
Universal Pictures Chairman Donna Langley, was happy to work with the two stars, especially a second time with Jolie.
“Angelina and Brad represent two of Hollywood’s brightest talents, and we are excited to be a part of their collaboration on this powerful piece” Langley said.
“I am very happy to continue my relationship with Donna and the entire Universal team as I finish ‘Unbroken’ and begin work on ‘By The Sea,'” Jolie said in a statement.
“By the Sea” will be the third movie that Jolie directs. She first directed “In the Land of Blood and Honey,” a love story during the Bosnian War, which was nominated for Golden Globe in 2012. Jolie is currently working on Universal’s “Unbroken,” a movie based on the true story of war hero Louis Zamperini, which will be released on Christmas.
