As of Friday, in a private meeting, with Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Hollywood royalty star Angelina Jolie, 39, makes it (kind of) official. For her work as a humanitarian and a co-founder of the Preventing Sexual Violence Initiative, Jolie receives honorary Damehood. Due to her foreign birth she cannot be addressed as Dame.
She was presented with the insignia of an Honorary Dame Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of St Michael and St George in a private meeting at Buckingham Palace, London.
According to E! News, “To receive an honor related to foreign policy means a great deal to me, as it is what I wish to dedicate my working life to. Working on PVSI and with survivors of rape is an honor in itself,” Jolie stated back in June. “I know that succeeding in our goals will take a lifetime, and I am dedicated to it for all of mine.”
New husband Brad Pitt and their six children were reported to attend the event and also had a chance to meet with the Queen.
