How to Balance Academics, Work and a Social Life

It’s no joke when people emphasize on being good with time management, especially when you are a busy college student with twenty jobs and the desire to keep an active social life. For those who say it cannot be done, don’t know what they’re talking about. Here is how you can earn a few bucks at work, study for your midterm and still have time to hang with your friends.

1. Realize that throughout your college career you will not be able to attend every single party there is to grace campus. Once you accept and understand this, you will not feel so stressed. You are not Superman or Superwoman and you cannot do everything.

2. School work comes before partying. Period. You know there is an epic party next weekend but you have a boatload of homework to do. The responsible thing to do is at least half of your homework before the party.

3. It’s seriously okay to take off of work for an event that you want to attend or to study for that Political Science final you have tomorrow. That is why jobs have “Time Off” procedures.

4. While at work, bust out a quick 15 minute study session in the employee lounge. It can be beneficial in the long run; especially if you want to dance the night away when you clock out.
