Barbie is a doll girls have played with from generation to generation. They were fun to dress up and play with, providing girls the chance to explore fashion and styling on their own. Mattel Inc. is going to change the way Barbie dolls are styled as they’re hoping to collaborate with designers to create three ready-to-wear collections for Barbie.
The three American designers Mattel Inc. has reached out to are Lord & Taylor, Wildfox and Forever 21, which have all agreed to the collaboration. The three collections will be inspired by fashion and icons from the Fifties, Eighties, and Nineties.

Jessica Dunne, Mattel’s general manager and senior vice president told WWD,
“We have fans of Barbie of all ages, and many girls that once played with them have grown up. We really wanted to make sure that we put together consumer approaches that reached all ages. “
The collections will be available on September 6th.
