Empty the Drawers. Get rid of everything that is too small, old, ripped or stained. If you haven’t worn it in the last year, it is probably not worth keeping. Also be sure to get rid of old, damaged accessories and make up, it’s not good for your skin to keep those three-year-old eyeshadows.

Ask a Friend to Come Shopping. Make sure that this friend is going to be brutally honest with you. Have some styles and color schemes in mind for outfits that you think you could pull off. Make sure your friend is honest but also fun, you want to remove the potential stress that comes with shopping.

Quick Make Up Essentials. Make a checklist of make up items you definitely need, and get those first. This list should be based on what you absolutely will not leave the house without wearing. Don’t forget, brushes are a must!

Essentials. Simple, neutral colors can be a basis to your outfits. Make sure that you have items that can go with everything! Essentials include simple tee shirts, jeans and cardigans.

Buy Extras. Get professional, chic apparel for work and nights out. Blouses, flowing shirts, pencil skirts, blazers and button up’s are always useful for developing a good, professional wardrobe. Also be sure to find a few cute dresses for when you want to spend a night on the town.

Accessories. Find a few items to highlight and accent your current outfits. Look for things that will help you add texture to your clothing items.
