Becky Hammon is making history, as she will be the first female full-time coach for a NBA team. It was announced on Tuesday that the former WNBA player was hired by the San Antonio Spurs as their next full-time assistant coach.
She will be working with the head coach of the Spurs, Gregg Popovich. He commented on her hiring stating, “I very much look forward to the addition of Becky Hammon to our staff. Having observed her working with our team this past season, I’m confident her basketball IQ, work ethic and interpersonal skills will be a great benefit to the Spurs.”
