Ben Affleck Releases Teaser of New Villain for Stand Alone Batman Film

Ben Affleck has dropped a major teaser on his twitter account about the popular DC comic villain, Deathstroke, that is rumored to be on his standalone Batman film in the future. Reportedly Affleck has commented that his release of a two-minute clip of the renowned supervillain isn’t a teaser for the upcoming Justice League movie, but it a hint to one of the main villains in the solo Batman film that he will be directing and starring in. The actor is also expected to be co-writing the solo Batman film with DC Chief Geoff Johns.

Deathstroke is rumored to be the featured villain that will oppose Ben Affleck’s Batman after he is done filming for the upcoming Justice League movie this year.

Deathstroke, who is also known as Slade Wilson, has been seen in many different TV shows and films since his 1980 debut in the DC comic series. The villain has made an appearance on the cartoon network series Teen Tians that ran from 2003-2006. Although Deathstroke has had a longer run in the CW’s Arrow, with over two seasons of character development of the mercenary character who issues revenge on multiple DC comic characters like Oliver Queen.

Warner Brother’s has yet to comment on who would portray the villain in the upcoming film, but they have stated that Deathstroke will be a central figure in the DC film universe. Film commentators assume the extended Warner Brother’s DC film series is going to take a darker turn in their subject matter, but information on the new solo Batman film is still being kept under wraps.

Reportedly, the current Warner Brother DC comic cast are in London due to filming the first Justice League film. Zach Snyder is directing the new Justice League film that is scheduled to premiere in theaters on November 10th 2017. Henry Cavill, Gal Godot, and Affleck are expected to reprise their roles as Superman, Wonder Woman, and Batman in the next upcoming DC Universe films.
