The news of Miranda Lambert, 31 and Blake Shelton’s, 39, split after just 4 years of marriage came as a surprise to everyone. The pair had married back in May 2011 in a Texas ceremony in front of family and friends. The two seemed happy together up until this point.
Confirmed by E! News, Shelton had in fact filed for divorce papers. Shortly after that announcement, the former dynamic duo released a joint statement saying,
“This is not the future we envisioned and it is with heavy hearts that we move forward separately. We are real people, with real lives, with real families, friends and colleagues. Therefore, we kindly ask for privacy and compassion concerning this very personal matter.”
A source close to the couple helped explain what the real issue was behind the scenes of a seemingly perfect marriage. The source said,
“Their busy schedules were a big issue for them. They both worked a lot and had to spend a lot of time apart. The less time they spent together, the more they grew apart.”
The source continued to say,
“Trust was an issue for both of them. It went along with having to spend a lot of time apart. Rumors of infidelity put stress on them. Despite denials, even just rumors of cheating are still hard to hear.”
Another insider close to Lambert, who is currently on tour, explained that she is,
“Doing the best she can at the moment and trying to process everything… She is strong and will come out of this stronger. She is focusing on her music, family and friends.”
Perhaps the split will result in greater success for both country artists.
