Bobbi Kristina Brown, the only child of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown, has passed away at a hospice center in Atlanta. In a statement to E! News, the Houston family announced,
“Bobbi Kristina Brown passed away Sunday, July 26 2015, surrounded by her family. She is finally at peace in the arms of God. We want to again thank everyone for their tremendous amount of love and support during these last few months.”
Earlier this year, January 31, the 22-year-old was found lying unconscious in a bathtub at home. Ever since, she had been in a comatose state. Bobbi’s aunt, Pat Houston, released a statement to E! News on June 24,
“Despite the great medical care at numerous facilities, Bobbi Kristina Brown’s condition has continued to deteriorate. As of today, she has been moved into hospice care. We thank everyone for their support and prayers. She is in God’s hands now.”
In an eerie happenstance, her mother’s passing occurred in a similar state of events. The Grammy-award winning singer drowned in her bathtub in a suite at the Beverly Hilton hotel a little more than three years ago, the day before the 2012 Grammys.
Bobbi Kristina was also found face down in a bathtub by her boyfriend Nick Gordon, who was said to have immediately rushed to the room to try to revive her with CPR while a friend called 911. Her father, Bobby Brown broke the silence on the devastating news stating,
“Privacy is requested in this matter. Please allow for my family to deal with this matter and give my daughter the love and support she needs at this time.”
While Bobbi had been happy and focused on her up and coming music career, understandably her mother’s tragic death stayed with her throughout everything.
Thoughts and prayers go out to the friends and family of Bobbi.
