Country singer Brad Paisley appears to love to test the waters. Just last month, he made headlines for messing with Westboro Baptist Church protesters outside his concert. The protesters held up signs that read, “God Hates Drunks,” so what did the country crooner do? Take selfies with the angry sobers.
Now, Brad Paisley seems to be tired of messing with outsiders, and started messing with those working inside his own label! Saturday night the singer took to his Twitter page to leak one of his songs off his latest album, Moonshine In the Trunk, out August 25.
His Twitter spree started this weekend by stating,
“I’m going rogue. The label doesn’t know I’m doing this. Seriously. But I made a Moonshine preview teaser. Don’t tell,” he said.
Following this tweet, Paisley tweeted e-mails from label executives along with his manager, urging him to remove the links.
Song Music Nashville was pulling down the links faster than Paisley could put them up. He sent one final e-mail which read,
“I promise I personally will not post a link to clips myself… You don’t need to worry about my Twitter this evening.”
A tweet clarified,
“Again, I promised the label I wouldn’t post the link myself. Me. Myself. I.”
Aware that his label and manager were watching his Twitter like hawks, Paisley recruited the help of his friends to continue leaking his songs to his fans without permission. Ludacris posted the link to the new album which was promptly taken down.
Frustrated, Bobby Bones played a remix of Paisley’s single ‘Riverbank’ featuring Colt Ford.
