Many were captivated by the dystopian society created in Veronica Roth’s trilogy of books.
With that said, there is both good and bad news for fans of the trilogy. Don’t worry, good news first, as always.
Suki Waterhouse, 22 year old British model, total babe, and girlfriend to Bradley Cooper, will be staring in the second adaption of the trilogy: “Insurgent.” The movie follows Tris (Woodley) and Four (James), fugitives, who are on the run from the power and knowledge hungry Erudite faction. They are searching to find meaning in the sacrifices Tris’ parents made for society.
Waterhouse will play Marlene, a member of the Dauntless faction. You are introduced to Marlene in the first book, “Divergent,” but her role becomes much more significant within the second. Waterhouse will star alongside Shailene Woodley, Theo James, and Kate Winslet.
One might think that Cooper encouraged her to go for the role, but this is not the models first time on the big screen. She has also starred in “Material Girl,” “Love, Rosie,” and “Rachael.”
Ready for the bad news? Audience’s must wait until March 2015 for the movie to hit theaters. March 20 to be exact. One can only hope it will be worth the wait.
“Insurgent,” sequel to best selling series, “Divergent,” is full of action and drama. The third and final movie, based on Roth’s concluding book in the series, “Allegiant,” will be split into two parts. Part one is scheduled to be released on March 18, 2016 and part two is planned to hit theaters March 24, 2017.
Filming for “Insurgent” is set to begin this week in Atlanta, Georgia.
