Britney Spears is Getting A Movie On Lifetime!

The popstar Britney Spears is officially getting her own Lifetime movie! The new bio-pic is going to display’s Spears rise to fame and her troubles throughout her singing career.

Natasha Bassett (from Hail, Cesar!) is going to play Britney Spears in the two-hour bio film. The film, which is under the working title of “Britney”, is set to have Leslie Libman as it’s director.

“Britney” is being produced by Asylum Entertainment, which is known for their work on The Kennedy’s. The new Lifetime film script is going to be written by Anne-Marie Hess, who is known for writing the script for Lifetime’s Perfect High. Steve Michaels, Joan Harrison, and Jonathan Koch are also a part of the project as executive producers.

Britney Spears does not appear to be involved with the production in any way. The new film is expected to be similar to many other Lifetime films who don’t have any input from the stars (or star’s families) when the film is being developed. These films include the upcoming premiere of The Brittany Murphy Story and Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B.

The new Lifetime film is going to explore Spears Louisiana upbringing and how at a young age she tried to be involved in all things music. The film will also cover her beginning stardom in the Mickey Mouse Club show and her tremulous relationship with young pop star Justin Timberlake.

From then on, the star’s personal life becomes conflicted when she marries childhood friend, Kevin Federline, and has two sons with him. Her life then spirals out of control when she loses custody of her two boys and has to be supervised under her father during her emotional breakdown. Although despite her troubles, she found a way back to stardom and has rebuilt her singing career.

Britany Spears today is awaiting the release of her ninth studio album “Glory”, which is set to be in music stores on August 26th. The pop star is also expected to perform live at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards.

Lifetime’s new project “Britney” is also set to begin production on September 19th 2016 in Vancouver, Canada. The film has an expected release date around 2017.
