Pop artist Britney Spears, 32, released her latest fragrance ad via Facebook on July 9. Spears posted a picture holding the perfume with the caption, “Coming soon.. Fantasy Stage Edition! Same amazing scent, special limited ed bottle inspired by my favorite performances.”
The photograph came from a photoshoot to promote the new perfume. For the photoshoot, Spears dressed up girlie and Barbie-esque in a pink and black silk robe over a lace crop top. So far, the post has over 245 thousand likes on Facebook. Spears has also promoted the new fragrance on her Instagram account. The promo poster for “Fantasy Stage Edition” contains photos from Spears’ most iconic performances. The fragrance comes in a yellow, snake-skin print bottle with a pink cap.
In September, Spears released her first image of her fragrance “Fantasy Anniversary Edition” on Facebook. The “Fantasy” perfume was celebrating its 10th year anniversary. The fragrance was released last October in three black bottles. Each contained part of her message in which the singer thanked her fans. One message read, “10 hugs and kisses.” The other two messages said, “To my sweet scented fans for a decade of love,” and “You are my inspiration.” According to Hollywood Life the names of some of Spears’ most dedicated fans from around the world were included on the bottles. Each of the bottles contained the super-fan’s name with the “xoxo Britney” signature as well. The anniversary bottle was black with golden crystals diverging from the original Fantasy bottle circa 2003 which was hot pink.
When the starlette revealed her first fragrance, “Curious,” in 2004 she earned $100 million in sales over the first five weeks. According to a report from the Daily Express last year, Spears’ fragrance is sold every 15 seconds worldwide.
Thus far Spears has released 15 perfumes from the time span of 2004-2014. The fragrances were created in collaboration with perfumers Claude Dir, James Krivda, Rodrigo Flores-Roux, Caroline Sabas, Honorine Blanc and Harry Fremont.
On Mon., July 21, “Fantasy Stage Edition” hit the shelves. The signature, sweet fragrance is a good diversion from Spears’ latest criticism for the leaked audio track “Alien,” from her “Britney Jean” album, that lacked auto-tune.
