He has only been on the show for one season and has been in the “Weekend Update” skit, alongside Colin Jost. “Saturday Night Live” has not commented on Wheelan’s departure, however, a rep from the show refrained from commenting on any possible casting changes and subsequent rumors.

Brooks Wheelan is not the first member of “Saturday Night Live” to be fired after one season. Robert Downey Jr., Billy Crystal and Jenny Slate were also fired after the same amount of time. Perhaps, he’ll get lucky and follow in Robert Downey Jr.’s footsteps.
