Bold brows are in. They’re a new trend that has caught on in the blink of an eye. Go big or go home seems to be the new motto. From runways to day-to-day wear, eyebrows are making quite the impact. Want to learn how to style those brows to be nothing less than perfect? Here’s step-by-step advice from Michelle Phan.

Don’t go the unruly eyebrow route – they’ll lack shape and form. Bold brows can be a bit daring, but this doesn’t mean they’re uncontrolled. Aside from a little bit of plucking here and there, go with the natural outline of the brow. Make sure all stray hairs are removed then brush the brow up and out to produce a mini eye lift.
2. Draw The Shape
This is the most important step. After the brows have been tamed, it’s time to frame the shape. Starting the brow’s line directly above the inner eye and working outward is the best way to go about the shaping. This process goes over smoothly if done with a brow pencil, which should be a shade or two darker than the natural hair color. If done correctly, framing the brows will highlight the features of the face and make the eyes pop.
3. Fill Them In
The easiest and most exciting part: filling in the brows. Although a brow pencil can work, using a darker eye shadow to fill them in will produce more natural results. Use short strokes to give the brows more body, and make sure to blend the framing lines if they appear harsh. Is the finished product a bit shocking? Don’t worry; it just takes a little time to get used to.
4. Apply Sealing Touches
Now that all the hard work is done, it’s time to seal the brows so that they don’t smear and lose definition. Apply setting wax or brow gel in an upward and outward motion to ensure quality results. The brow gel will provide added shade, but if that is not desired, the wax offers a clear covering without the added color. Once this has been done, take a look in the mirror and admire the new look!
