Bruce Jenner Opens Up With Diane Sawyer

ABC debuts the first promo on Bruce Jenner’s interview with Diane Sawyer airing on April 24th.

The short fifteen-second trailer does not reveal much about what will be talked about in the interview. His face is even hidden throughout the video and all is pictured is the back of his face and a blurred side profile.

“The interview, the journey, the decisions, the future,” is all the insight revealed in the videos voiceover.

ABC describe the interview with the 65 year old former Olympic Champion and “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” star as a “far-ranging interview.” They do reveal that the interview will have a great focus on Jenner’s growing feminine features and his transition into a woman.

TMZ reports from a source connected to Jenner that in the interview he will in fact “present himself” publicly as a woman for the first time and will make the official “farewell to Bruce.” The Interview will not only focus on his appearance, but dwell more on his mental state through the transition and beyond.

TMZ sources tell them that he will not give out his new name or actually dress as a woman at the time of the interview. This is Bruce’s biggest moment and first discussion about his sex change.

Bruce first identified himself as a woman at the young age of 5. He will discuss how difficult it was since then to live as a man but not feel like one. And how it felt to hide the fact from those close to him. Also to be brought up is the impact his decisions has had on his family.

Bruce’s family seems fully supportive of Bruce during this time. Sources tell US that all 10 children including stepchildren Kourtney, Kim and Kourtney, despite the recent divorce from mother Kris Jenner, give their full support as he takes on his journey.

Kim Kardashian showed her support early this year when she shared with Entertainment Tonight that her dad appeared “the happiest” she has ever seen him. When she was pressed on the issue Kim simply said, “I think he’ll share whenever the time is right. I feel like that’s his journey to talk about.”

And that time has come for Bruce as he entrusts in Diane Sawyer to be the first to hear about his feelings on the issue. He has faced prior disdain from some who do not understand the reasoning behind his transition. The interview will give him the opportunity to explain his decision and educate those on the difficulties he has undergone through it.

Sources say the most important thing to look out for is Bruces discussion on the “mundane things” that will change in his life from this point forward.

On top of the interview Bruce will be premiering on an exclusive E! News documentary.
