Buffalo boots give heeled sneakers a run for their money. These boots, a classic staple of the ’90s as they were made popular by the Spice Girls, are making a comeback in the 21st Century.
Solestruck has been selling these boots for over a year now, ever since they did collaboration with Buffalo, but it seems that with Ashish and Topshop working on their 10th collaboration, the boots are back in style.
In an interview with Fashion Editor at Large, Ashish said that the trend that has gone global is “the buffalo boots! Everyone wanted them after we showed them at the runway show, so Topshop widened the distribution.”
They first premiered them on the runway in February, and since then, Lilly Allen has picked up the look offered by the new line. A few celebrities known for their spunky style have already been spotted incorporating these shoes into their Outfit of the Days, such as Lady Gaga and Rita Ora.
These heels range from a little under one inch to 12 inches, and they come in a variety of patterns and colors. However, these shoes aren’t like the originals worn by the popular girl band. They light up. Yes, the light-up shoes from your childhood are coming back with a vengeance.
A pair of these new “LED Single Stacked Trainers” could run you over $400, but that’s a small price to pay for these back-in-style shoes.
