Channing Tatum is a 35 year-old American actor who gained popularity from his films like Step Up, Magic Mike, Jupiter Ascending and many more. The actor, model, dancer and film producer was announced to play the role of the mutant Gambit from the X-Men universe.
Comic book fans didn’t seem to complain as much about this decision, unlike the bad response that the announcement of Ben Affleck as Batman has received. Tatum was to play the titular role in the X-Men spinoff movie that will release in 2016.
The actor was not only supposed to star in the film but also co-produce the project. However, rumor has it that the actor is not going to be playing the character after all. The reasons for doubt are unclear for now, and it is also unknown if the actor will just remain the co-producer for the film.
Actresses are being auditioned and tested for the female lead of the film, but the stance on the male lead seems to be irresolute for now. According to an insider, the matter is still being discussed by the producers, and nothing is really final as of yet.
Hopefully, whatever decision the producers make will keep the fans of the comics happy.

Ugh, I hope he still does it. He’d be perfect because he’s perfect for any role tbh
