A royal announcement indeed! The palace confirmed on friday that Prince Albert II and his wife will be expecting their first child.
The baby will be due by the end of the year. Albert, 58 is the son of the late Grace Kelly and his wife Charlene, 36, an olympic swimmer from South Africa. The couple married back in 2011. Both have children from previous marriages.
The statement from the palace isn’t elaborate, but it does state that Charlene is three months pregnant. There has been speculation surrounding Charlene on the matter of creating an “heir” to the dynasty, saying that she was waiting too long.
As of now, until the baby is born, the heir is Albert’s older sister, Princess Caroline.
Charlene, fashion forward as she is, can be seen sporting pieces from Giorgio Armani, designer of her wedding gown. Alber’s mother, Grace Kelly is also keeping up to date with the latest fashion labels and trends.
