In a fight to help Americans get over female nudity, comedian Chelsea Handler posted a photo of herself, topless riding a horse. The photo was meant to poke fun at Russian President Vladimir Putin. Unfortunately the folks at Instagram did not find this as humorous as Chelsea did and took the picture down. The comedian immediately responded by posting a screenshot of the “community guidelines” on her Instagram. Writing as a tagline “if a man post a photo of his nipples, it’s okay, but not a woman? Are we in 1985?”
Mrs. Handler makes a great point; while males are free to expose their nipples to the world, seeing a nipple on a woman is akin to a national emergency. Remember that time when Janet Jackson’s wardrobe malfunction and accidentally exposed her nipple to millions at the Super Bowl?
This photo along with the viral frenzy, helps to open up a dialogue about the differences of sexuality.
