Christian Louboutin reveals his new nail polish line inspired by his stiletto line.
His footwear line was originally inspired by nail polish. Louboutin said, “I grabbed a bottle of red nail polish from my assistant and painted it onto the bottom of a shoe. That was what started the trademark red sole.”
The nail polish comes in a small clear bottle, with a gold point, similar to that of the point on the heel of his shoes. There are 31 nail polishes which come in all colors of the rainbow, as well as neutral colors such as tan, pale pink, gray, and brown.

In an interview with InStyle, Louboutin gave more insight into his beauty line, and the signature rouge shade in the line. “It mimics the color of my red sole, but more importantly, it’s flattering on everyone. That was crucial to me. We worked really hard and tested it on every skin tone until we got it right.”
If you have always wanted the opportunity to wear Louboutin, but haven’t been able to dish out $600+ for them, these nail polishes are available online for pre-order, so far only in the Rouge Louboutin shade, at Saks, Neiman Marcus, and some Sephora stores.
