Just recently musicians Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams were dragged to court by the family of the late Marvin Gaye for music infringement. The results leading to Thicke and Williams paying the Gaye family $7.3 million. Also, with a little less public battle, Sam Smith paid Tom Petty the credit and money he was due when his hit single ‘Stay With Me’ was put under the radar for copying off of Petty’s song.
However, it was not a lesson learned to other artists in the music industry. Not too long ago, singer Ciara was so happy while being engaged to her soon-to-be husband, rapper Future as they awaited their baby boy together. Unfortunately it was speculated that the rapper stepped outside of their relationship and cheated. So Ciara has been seen toting her baby around the world by herself.  This week Ciara released a new single entitled ‘I Bet’ where she just sings her emotions in a song dedicated to her recent heartbreak.
Though the song received great feedback from her fans, Jermaine Dupri was not impressed and felt as if she stole the whole vibe from a song he produced for Usher, ‘U Got it Bad’. He went on to say that although keys and notes were changed, it was in fact the same as his production. Dupri hopes that the singer will give credit where credit is due before things get any messier.
