Coach Features ‘America’s Mouse’ in their New Disney Collaboration

Stuart Vevers, Coach’s executive creative director, reminds us you’re never too old for Mickey Mouse in the brand’s latest Disney-inspired collaboration. Vevers unabashedly confesses to Vogue.com that he proudly wears the badge of ‘Disney freak’, confirmed by his avid attendance at the various theme park locations across the world.

Via Facebook just hours ago, Coach announced the release date of the Disney X Coach collaboration, coming soon on June 17th. The post features a tiny red purse with the undeniable ears of Mickey sprouting from its shape.

New Yorkers received the first glimpse of the collection today, in Coach’s Soho store. An Instagram post from the brand features the display cases filled with the Mickey-inspired leather goods line. Coach’s classic Saddle bag and frame purse styles are presented alongside Mickey himself, displayed as caricatures in the window displays. The purses come in various yellow, red, black and nude hues.

“We only did Mickey, the icon – it’s America’s leather housewith America’s mouse,” Vevers tells Vogue.com.

In addition to the handbag line, the collection reportedly features sneakers and sportswear as well. Images have also surfaced of a moto jacket design with a studded Mickey silhouette on the back.

While Manhattanites preview the collection, across the pond, Parisians glimpse the line in Coach’s Colette store too! The rest of the public eye will have to wait their turn to view Vever’s Disneyland creations, set to hit the brand’s website and store worldwide on the 17th!

A great deal of secrecy has surrounded the collaboration up until today. But soon enough, adults around the world will indulge in the leather works featuring their dear old friend, Mickey. The mouse who endures generation after generation, much like Coach, whose designs have proven to withstand the tests of time.
